The club is amply equipped for
both digitally projected and print competitions, and lighting
setups for studio evenings. The studio lights are available for members to
borrow. Our other available
equipment also allows members to calibrate computer monitor screens and printers.
These benefits, plus help from established members, and tutorial
sessions, are available to all
members, in addition to the programme of events during the year.
The club’s varied programme includes
competitions, organised studio sessions, lectures from knowledgeable guest speakers, photographic outings, and hands-on demonstrations.
Each year the winner of our premier internal club competition is presented with the much coveted Parkwood Cup trophy. This competition consists of three rounds and the member gaining the most points during the year is presented with the trophy to keep for the following year. We also hold competitions with other local clubs throughout the year.
Our friendly club evenings also include regular interactive/social evenings where we just socialise and exchange information to help each other to improve our photography.
We are based in Parkwood, Rainham, and our members come from all
over the Medway Towns, and other areas in Kent. The club meets at
Parkwood Community Centre most Mondays except for the 2nd week in each month, when we
meet on Tuesdays (See Programme).
We also have regular photo shoot outings in the summer months, and have
recently introduced Accreditation Workshops on some Wednesday evenings, currently held at the
Hastings Arms.
We were one of the first camera clubs in Kent to have a website back in the early days of the internet, in the late 1990s. We have developed our website information for both current and prospective members so they can find information about the club and photography in general.
We are currently taking on new members. If you would like to join,
